DEVELOPMENT ORIENTATION AND INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Development perceptions and objectives

Mobilise domestic resources and pro-actively attract investment from overseas aiming at effectively exploit potentials and strength of the province in geology, natural resources and human resources to develop industry, service and rapidly transfer the economic and labor structure. Put high priority on developing industrial parks, considering this as the key for socio-economic development of the province.

Speed up the  economic growth rate up to 10 – 11% in the period of 2006 – 2010 and 12% between 2010 – 2020. By 2020, the province will strive for the weight of economic sectors:  Industry – construction accounting for 49.2%, services 37.0%, Agro-forestry and fishery  13.8%.

Industrial sector

Calling for investment to fullfil complete and on-construction industrial parks: Quang Chau industrial park with 426 ha, Van Trung industrial park with 433 ha, Song Khe – Noi  Hoang industrial park with 180 ha (phase II 340 ha); Viet – Korea 100 ha (Phase I)

After fulfilling with projects into the industrial parks, there will be a continuity of planning and calling for investment in infrastructure into some important industrial parks in districts namely Lang Giang, Luc Nam, Yen Dung, Hiep Hoa, increasing total area of industrial parks up to about 3,000 ha by 2020.

• Supplementary industries supporting automobile assembly, electronics and informatics production

• Agro-forestry and foodstuff processing

Services – commerce – tourism sector

Focus developing the sectors of commerce, service and tourism and calling for investment into some projects:

• Construction of inland port
• Projects of Financial investment; banking, insurance, telecommunication.
• Construction of high-tech vocational schools, multidisciplinary universities, high quality hospitals
• Commercial centers and supermarkets
• Construction of luxurious offices and hotels, restaurants in Bac Giang city.
• Investment into tourism areas with large scale in Cam Son Lake and Tay Yen Tu, entertainment site in Quang Phuc hill, Bac Giang city and Building golf course, weekend convalescence centers in districts

Infrastructure construction sector

Call for investment in some projects:

• Roads and bridges connecting the south of Bac Giang to provinces namely Quang Ninh, Hai Duong, Bac Ninh (BOT method).
• Infrastructure construction and business in new urban areas (accordance with provincial urban development planning)
• Construction of Thermal Power Plant in Nuoc Vang coal mine, Luc Nam district.
• Water supply plant serving the industrial parks

Agricultural, forestry and Fishery

Call for investment in projects of building capacity in production, processing of agricultural products and foodstuff:

• Storing and processing products after harvesting
• Planting safe vegetables, flower for exports applying biotechnology, improving litchi quality.
• Supplying high quality breeds
• Raising cattle, livestock, aquaculture applying advanced technologies
